NOTES RECEIVED FROM SHIPMATES WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE REUNION

Ben Marsh, 46, says he will be unable to attend.  Says hello to all plankholders.
Charles Stirrup, PNC, 51-52, is unable to travel.  Would like to hear from his friends.
Ray Roberts, ME3, 54-55, unable to attend.  Wishes all hands a good time at the reunion.
Roger Bess EM3, 52-53,unable to attend due to Medical problems. 
Received word that E. R. Beaudry cannot attend.
Bill & Irene Couch, 53-54, due to move to 211 Willow Valley Square Manor, Apt. B-106, Lancaster, Pa. 17602, ph. 717-464-5719, and the marriage of a granddaughter.
Capt. Hayes sends word that due to a walker and oxygen he cannot attend.  Sends "hi" to Dan McGuirl.
Capt. Pavis sends word he is unable to attend this year, but hopes to attend next year.
Del Austin says he is unable to attend.
Ray Fred, 50-54, is unable to attend due to wife's back problems.
John Keller, 60-63, is unable to attend.
Kenneth LaBelle, 56-59 & 62-65, is unable to attend due to wife's health.
Jesse Keck, SK3, 60-63, is looking for someone who would share a room at the reunion.  Call at 727-667-4985.
Bob-Fergie-Ferguson, RD3, 64-66, is unable to attend due to moving and Elaine has a few days of teaching she has to perform prior to retirement.
Joe Sheehan, PN3, 49-51, will be on a world cruise.  Says "hi" to everyone.
Joe-Gordie-Devereaux, EM3, 62-65, is unable to attend this year.
Frank Smiley, GMG3, 61-64, is unable to attend this year.
Alex-Butch-Topicz, IC1, 60-68, was involved in a auto/motocycle accident.  He had his helmet on, but suffered a broken right ankle, and his lower right leg was shattered quite badly.  He has plates, pins and a rod.  He may have to go to a rehab center, and he will be on crutches for several months   I'm sure he would love to hear from all his shipmates.  We wish his a speedy recovery.
Daryle Rodriquez, EM3, 63-66, cannot make it due to hip surgery.
John Brooks, MR3, 64-66, cannot make it this year.
Irv Shea, BRCS, 59-62, cannot attend due to legs and house project.
Mel Purvis, RM2, 47-48, cannot attend due to legs.
Lonnie Stokes, EM2, 48-51, cannot attend due to dizziness.
Charles Kovarik, 47, unable to attend, hopes to attend in 2009.
John Valente, SN, 58-60, nephew is getting married, hopes to see everyone in 2009.
Walt Ziem, DM2, 54, attending 60th High School reunion.
Al Isner, MM3, 53-56, can't make it.
Bob Kemp, DT3, 52-53, can't make it, hopes to in 2009.
Elmer Truskey, BT3, 53-55, can't make it.
Charles Pennell, SK3, 49-51, wife died in December, hoped to attend, but is being tested for Cancer and cannot attend.  Hopes to see everyone in 2009.  We wish Charles well in his
Roger Brown, TESN,49-52, says he sorry he won't be able to attend but hopes to make it in 200
Rick Mooney, DC3/65-70, wrote to say he is unable to attend this year.
Ken Stephenson, SN/52-55, unable to attend
David Klinkhammer, plankholder, SK3, 46-48, & Avis, his wife, are unable to attend because Dave had a hip replaced and Avis has had a couple of strokes. I'm sure they would like to hear from their friends.
Richard Lux, RM3, 47-50, has had prostate cancer and is receiving treatments.  He says "hi" and would like to hear from his friends.
Alan King, Sr., BM1, 50-53, has had a stroke and is unable to attend. He would like to hear from all of you.
Vinny Arel, BT3, 64-68, they attended their son's retirement ceremony from the Navy and are unable to attend.  Congratulations!
Bob Lord, MR1, 53-55, his wife's mother is not well and they are responsible for her care, therefore, unable to attend.
Bob Stefanic, CS3, 53-55, and wife, Lillian, are having back problems.  Wish them well.
Carmen Price, SFCS, 47-48, had surgery on varicose viens and is unable to attend.  We'll miss he and his sons.
Dan McGuirl, MRCS, 70-73, had to cancel his reservation because of a death in the family.  We send our condolences.
Ed Culbertson, SF3, 46-48, injured his foot and had to cancel his reservation.  We wish him a speedy recovery.
Rudy Droppa, S1QM, 47-48, was unable to come because of high blood pressure and Doctor's orders not to fly.
Max Leech, CWO, 48-51, talked with his wife, Norma, she said he is doing well except having trouble with his legs and hips.
Alex (Butch) Topicz, IC1, 60-66, continues to improve.  Is on crutches.  Goes back to Doctor for x-ray to see how bones are mending.
Clay Cutler, E3, 62-65, was scheduled to attend the reunion, but could not due to unexpected events.
Bob (Fergie) Ferguson, RD3, 64-66, talked with Bob and he is doing well.  Elaine retired from teaching and attending the Phillies playoffs.
Joe D'Antonio, BMSN, 48-52, talked with his wife, Mary, she said Joe is living with only 15% of his heart operating.  We wish his the very best.
